Children and young people should feel safe, respected and in good hands in sport. In order to actively support this goal, the Landessportbund (LSB) Berlin has created the so-called Child Protection Seal. It recognizes sports clubs that have dealt intensively with the protection of children and young people and have implemented concrete measures for prevention and intervention.
The child protection seal stands for quality, responsibility and transparency. Clubs that wish to receive the seal go through a structured process. This includes the development of a child protection concept, the appointment of contact persons, participation in training courses and the sensitization of trainers and volunteers. The aim is to identify risks at an early stage and establish a clear stance against violence and boundary violations in sport.
In addition to preventative protection, the seal also strengthens the trust of parents, children and members in the club. It shows that the club takes responsibility and is actively committed to a safe environment.
The topic of child protection is also actively promoted at district level: The Marzahn-Hellersdorf District Sports Association has also been awarded the child protection seal, sending a clear signal for the protection of children and young people in sport.
In addition, the Marzahn-Hellersdorf District Sports Association offers targeted further training for child protection officers as well as the basic training required to obtain the child protection seal. Two basic training courses have already been successfully completed and further dates are being planned. Interested clubs and committed individuals can obtain comprehensive information and advice on the subject of the child protection seal.
